Message Well, I finally had a chance to take this thing to the track before I go to Iraq for the next year. I will say that I was a little dissapointed with the times but I know there is more in her.

For my first few runs I was on my race gas chip with a 93/110 octane mix and 25 PSI. The best I could get was a 12.1 due to the car "stuttering" and cutting out from about 5K RPM and up. I was starting to get a little frustrated with it so I switched in my pump gas chip and left the boost levels the same. My first pass was 11.4 @ 122 with a 1.9 sec 60'. After that pass it seemed like the car was trying to cut out at higher RPMs. I didnt want to break anything so I just took it home. The next day the car was definetly stuttering at higher RPMs on the pump gas chip. I looked into it the next morning and the # 2 cylinder started to not even fire.

Turns out the porcelian around the central electrode failed, causing the plug not to fire. I think that it was starting to fail when I ran the race gas chip (due to a more aggressive fuel and timing tune on that chip, still 12:1), then continued to worsen on the pump gas chip until it finally failed.

I pretty much suck at launching, I dont know how you guys out in CA are doing it. I just need more seat time I guess. If I could do better than a 1.9 I would be in buisness.

The only other problem I encountered was the rim slipping inside the slick. I was running the tires at about 12 PSI, I think I will try taking it down a little more before I consider screwing the tires to the rim.

For those that have suffered through all of this, on to the pics.

First of all, the timeslip. Please feel free to critique as you see fit.

The infamous spark plug that caused all of my problems.

The Left tire, The thin paint marker lines are my slippage marks

The Right tire

And just for the hell of it, something you will only see in Georgia. This is in no way photoshopped, I saw this at a gas station on my way up to Z1 a few weekends ago.

Lastly, here is one of my new dyno sheets. The lowest number is wastegates only, no boost controller (14-15PSI). We did this pull at the end of tuning just for the heck of it. I think the race chip program was still running which would explain the slightly higher AF over the run at 20PSI. The middle one is pump gas and 20 PSI. The high one is race gas and 25 PSI. I expected the numbers to be considerably lower than the last time due to the fact that the last time the tranny was pretty old, while this time I have a new Greg D tranny and a 4K RPM Stall (a few people hinted after I made my numbers back in Feb that I wouldn't make those kind of numbers with a fresh tranny, blah blah blah). Needless to say, I am happy with the car, it is a complete joy to drive.

Thanks for reading.
